Mouse and Dylan Drum |

|
This little book could be subtitled “How to handle jealousy”.
When Fiona Bear plays her African bongo drums, Jim Jazz Mouse discovers
he has a problem on his hands. His bright red drum kit, called Dylan,
has gone green with jealousy – or envy. He refuses to play
alongside Bhoomi bongos, and says so in rhyming verse. “Tell
my tail!” says an annoyed Jim Jazz. But when Fiona cancels
their second session because of a bruised paw, Jim Jazz secretly
mixes a recording of their earlier gig on his computer. The resulting
rhythms are so exciting that (luckily) even Dylan agrees they have
found their “rainflow” – a teamwork harmony that
puts all the colours of their rainbow moods together. There’s
also an end section about the evolution of drums and drumming.
